1 Naquele mesmo dia o rei Assuero deu à rainha Ester a casa de Hamã, inimigo dos judeus; e Mardoqueu veio diante do rei, porque Ester [lhe] declarara o que ele era dela.

2 E o rei tirou o seu anel que tinha tomado de Hamã, e o deu a Mardoqueu. E Ester pôs a Mardoqueu sobre [o comando] da casa de Hamã.

3 Ester falou novamente diante do rei, e lançou-se a seus pés, chorando e suplicando-lhe que revogasse a maldade de Hamã, agagita, e seu plano que tinha tramado contra os judeus.

4 Então o rei apontou para Ester o cetro de ouro; e Ester se levantou, e se pôs em pé diante do rei.
