18 E acabado aquele ano, vieram a ele o segundo ano, e lhe disseram: Não encobriremos a nosso senhor que o dinheiro certamente se acabou; também o gado é já de nosso senhor; nada restou diante de nosso senhor a não ser nossos corpos e nossa terra.

19 Por que morreremos diante de teus olhos, tanto nós como nossa terra? Compra a nós e a nossa terra por pão, e seremos nós e nossa terra servos de Faraó; e dá-nos semente para que vivamos e não morramos, e não seja assolada a terra.

20 Então comprou José toda a terra do Egito para Faraó; pois os egípcios venderam cada um suas terras, porque se agravou a fome sobre eles: e a terra veio a ser de Faraó.
