Jesus gives the Lord’s Prayer as a pattern, not a mere recitation: begin with the Father’s honor (“hallowed be thy name”), His kingdom and will, then daily needs, forgiveness, and protection. The order matters — God’s glory comes before our requests, reshaping what we want.
Matthew 6:9 KJV“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”

Jesus models prayer that begins with God — His holiness, His name, His character — before anything else is said. This command calls for a reorientation of how you approach the Father, starting not with your needs but with who He is. When you come to God, how much time do you give to simply honoring Him before you begin presenting what you need?
Pray after this manner today. Start with the Father — hallow His name, seek His kingdom and His will before you say anything else. Then ask for daily bread, forgive as you have been forgiven, and plead for deliverance from evil. Pray this pattern right now, actually addressing the Father with these priorities. Let Jesus' model shape your prayer before the day ends.
When you pray this way, you enter the relationship with the Father as He designed it. You honor His name first, align yourself with His kingdom, and depend on Him for daily provision. You receive and give forgiveness in the same breath. This pattern draws you into intimacy with the Father, ordering your heart around His character and care.
