Jesus commands converting earthly holdings into heavenly treasure through radical generosity to the poor — bags which wax not old. For some (the rich young ruler) it meant everything; for all it means possessions exist to be deployed for the kingdom, not hoarded as security.
Luke 12:33 KJV“Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.”

Jesus commands a radical, costly generosity: sell what you have, give it to the poor, invest in eternal treasure rather than earthly security. This is not a suggestion for those with excess — it is a command about where you place your security. Have you honestly confronted this command? Is your financial life oriented more toward eternal investment or earthly accumulation? What would it look like to take these words at face value?
Identify today one item of significant value you own but do not absolutely need. Sell it. Give the entire proceeds directly to the poor through a verifiable ministry. You know what it is — the thing you justify keeping, the thing that represents security or status. Name it right now, then act. Convert your earthly asset into eternal treasure.
When you sell and give as Jesus commands, you convert perishable earthly assets into eternal, unfading treasure in heaven. You store up riches no thief can steal and no moth can corrupt. Your true wealth becomes eternally secure with the Father, held where your heart truly belongs.
