Jesus directly commands His followers not to be anxious about food, drink, or clothing. The reasoning is the Father’s character: He feeds the birds and clothes the lilies, and you are worth far more. Worry is not a harmless temperament — it is practical distrust of a good Father.
Matthew 6:25 KJV“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”

Jesus commands the release of anxious preoccupation with material provision — not the end of responsibility, but the end of worry. Think about how much mental and emotional energy you give each week to concerns about money, food, security, and the future. Jesus says don't carry that. Are you actually resting in the Father's care, or are you chronically anxious about the very things He has promised to provide?
Stop the anxious thought the moment it rises. Today, when worry about provision grips you — the bill, the pantry, the future need — cut it off. Offer that specific concern to God right then. Choose trust over the internal monologue of fear. No backup plan, no frantic rehearsal. Release it to the Father and leave it there.
When you take no thought for material needs, releasing anxiety about food and clothing, you enter a deeper dependence on the Father. You experience His provision in ways previously hidden by your own anxious planning. Trust replaces fear. You discover Him as your ever-present provider, faithful in every need.
