Jesus commands a reordering of priorities: God’s reign and righteousness come first — before career, security, comfort, everything. The promise attached is stunning: pursue His kingdom as your primary aim, and “all these things” — the necessities you were anxious about — “shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33 KJV“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Jesus gives a priority: seek first. Not second, not alongside other things, not after the important things are handled — first. The kingdom of God and His righteousness must be the organizing principle of your life. Look at how your time, energy, and attention are actually distributed. What do you seek first — not what you would say if someone asked, but what does the daily pattern of your life show?
Seek the kingdom first today. Right now, in the decision in front of you, in the concern competing for your attention — put God's kingdom and His righteousness ahead of it. Not alongside, not after — first. Let the pursuit of His way be your undivided priority in every situation that rises before the day ends.
When you obey this command, you enter a relationship of trust with the Father as you experience His provision firsthand. Seeking His kingdom first draws you into intimacy as He fulfills His promise to add all these things to your life. You discover His character through His faithful supply.
